Matching PREP Scholars with a Lab and Research Mentor:   PREP Scholars are matched with a research mentor and lab in their area of research interest.   Faculty from across UTMB participate. Each year, the list of program faculty is updated based on availability to provide mentoring and a stimulating lab experience with a defined research project for the scholar.  This list will be provided to each scholar upon accepting admission.

Participating Research mentors commit to developing the PREP scholar in their training, including:

•   Train the scholar in research and associated skills
•   Provide career development mentoring
•   Work with the scholar on their individual development plan and   graduate school application

Matching Process: We employ a mutual matching process in which scholars interact with several faculty of interest and their labs prior to choosing a lab.
